Studio shoots will be conducted at Norths club or out door field outings using natural light and flash.
These are not studio lighting workshops, if you want to learn about studio lighting please enroll in a course to suit your needs.
These type of studio shoots are not structured or rigid, they are casual, informal and to be fun.
All help on camera settings will be available.
They are studio shoots purely for a portfolio building session with a pre-prepared and managed set for each person to step into and shoot. Models, hair and makeup artist will prepare the models for their dedicated shoot, the look could be vintage, fashion, burlesque, tribal, poster pin up, nature, film noir or beauty plus more. So why not join in the fun at the next shoot.

It’s not as easy as it looks to produce a prize winning Nature photograph. If you would like to learn how, Kerry Boytell has won many awards and medals and is happy to pass on tips and techniques to members.

It takes a lot of skill to capture the perfect moment of split-second sport action. Eric Lippey is an expert in this type of photography and can offer advice if this is your area of interest.
If you would like help in matting a print or naming/resizing a digital image for entering a competition, deciding which photograph best fits a set subject, or producing an image that will catch a judge’s eye, you can show your work to one of the club’s three judges for feedback and constructive suggestions.
Patricia Beal, Kerry Boytell and Eric Lippey have experience in judging at club, national and international level for many years. They have also gained recognition and medals for their photography in Australia and overseas.
