Night photography is the practice of capturing images outdoors between dusk and dawn, relying on long exposures, high ISO, and wide apertures to illuminate scenes where natural light is minimal. It encompasses diverse subjects, from cityscapes to celestial bodies, with astrophotography a specialised subset of night photography, that includes photographing stars, the Milky Way and nebulae. The goal of this photographic style is to reveal the hidden beauty of the night, from the artificial, moody and vibrant colours of urban scenes, to the awe-inspiring, and faint light of the cosmos.
