We are seeking expressions of interest for a club outing to the Canberra Balloon festival on the 9th and 10th March.  Contact Fujiko  fwatt2@bigpond.com
The balloons begin inflation at 6.15am on both Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of the old parliament house. Admission is free for spectators, but you can also have a balloon flight for $395. You need to book the flight straightaway on 026498660: the weekend flights are always booked out.
From 2pm to 11pm on Saturday 9th March the Queanbeyan rodeo is a photographers delight. It is the only rodeo where you can shoot from a stand, thus avoiding messy backgrounds. At the Queanbeyan Showground, Glebe Ave. Queanbeyan Admission $15
At night Parliament house, the high court and the NGV are illuminated Vivid style for one week only. There is also a free symphony concert in Commonwealth park on the Saturday night.
Other attractions include the National museum of Australia, the National portrait gallery, the National Gallery, and the High Court.
This is a long weekend in Canberra, you will need to book accommodation early.
