2020 Mar: Moon Shoot with Matt Hudson
Monday 9/03 – Matt: Super moody supermoon. I ran an informal get together with Norths Photographic to shoot the supermoon. The cloud forecast looked great a week out, but as it neared things started to look worse. Thankfully on the night the conditions improved and we got almost 30 minutes of impacted visibility. I actually prefer a bit of cloud for moonrise; while it’s far more likely you won’t get the shot, if you do manage to get a gap it adds so much character to the images.

2020 Feb: Competition Action
Tuesday 25/02
Great night of critique and learning with Delly Carr.
Feedback: Delly has specialised in various sports, attending 9 Olympic Games to photograph Aussie athletes, attending pre-games camps etc, and obviously getting to know the athletes. Very enthusiastic about sports. And knew his equipment and the techniques etc to get good shots. His specialties include the swim team, rowing, fencing, etc. His knowledge of sports photography certainly came through in his comments, though he acknowledged his inexperience at doing such judgings. Delly gave sympathetic and positive comments about all images, stressing that he looks for the peak of the action to be captured.

2019 Outing: Flamenco Dancers
Images by Eric Lippey
Tuesday 26/11 Spanish Tapas restaurant
A great night of tapas, paella and photographing the lovely flamenco dancers.
Review
Spanish Tapas Restaurant has a never-ending queue of people lining out the doors. Large groups are drawn to the jugs of Sangria on offer, fantastic food, great service, live flamenco shows (Mon, Fri and Sat nights only) and the endless sound of laughter and good fun. The banquet menus are great value – offering a selection of tapas and paella.
2019 November: People in the Environment
We’re getting close to the end of the year, a few more meetings and activities and that’s it for 2019.
To hear Kerry go over the different things we did this year, as a start for our AGM, made me realise once again how much I appreciate being part of this Club, to have a group of people that shares your interest, to be able to see the way they express through images, and to have a chance to learn so much from them, our presenters and judges is just amazing an priceless. So I’m looking forward to 2020 and all that it will bring.
The AGM was OK, but the competition went even better. The great images presented, and the judging from Peita Ward that was excellent and helpful, left me with a lot to think next time I’m out with my camera.

2019 October: Open
Tuesday 22/10
Last open competition of the year and it ended with a high note. Not only for the quality of the images presented, but also thanks to Dennis’s judging: Fun, constructive and on point, I think we all enjoyed it and learnt from his experience.
